Inquiry Committee to submit report within a month
The government Monday constituted a High Level Inquiry Committee led by Principal Secretary Home to probe the recent recruitments in J&K Khadi Village and Industries Board (KVIB).
An order issued by Commissioner Secretary to government,Khurshid Ahmad Shah disclosed that sanction has been accorded to the constitution of a high level Inquiry committee chaired by R K Goyal Principal Secretary, Home department to inquire into the selection recruitments in J&KKhadi Village and Industries Board (KVIB).
The other members of the Inquiry Committee are Principal Secretary Health and Medical Education, Dr Pawan Kotwal and Commissioner Secretary School Education Department Farooq Ahmad Shah.
A huge row had erupted following allegations of nepotism and favouritism in KVIB’s recruitment process. The relatives and children of some ruling politicians figured in the selection list.
According to the order, the terms of reference of high level inquiry committee shall be to inquire into the complaints relating to the alleged unfair selection made by KVIB against various posts.
The committee would also determine as to whether proper procedure as laid down in the relevant rules was followed as has been done by the other recruiting agencies or not.
“It will also inquire into the methodology in selecting the agencies for setting the question, evaluation process etc, and ascertain whether any deviation has been made in the selection process from advertising the posts to the release of selection lists,” reads the order.
According to the official order, the committee shall be serviced by the Industries & Commerce Department and would submit its final report within a month.
The opposition National Conference had demanded quashing of the list and a court monitored judicial probe.
