Reiterating shutdown call for 27 November (Monday), the joint resistance leadership on Sunday stated that “gruesome atrocities committed by Indian forces across North and South Kashmir are crossing limits.”
A joint statement issued by JRL comprising Syed Ali Geelani, Mirwaiz Muhammad Umar Farooq and Muhammad Yasin Malik said that “condition of thousands of innocents languishing in jails and police stations is also worsening with each passing day.”
“Kashmiris are always protesting against these human rights violations and strike call for Monday (27 November 2017) is also intended to highlight these oppressive measures,” the JRL statement read.
“Indian forces have unleashed a reign of terror across Kashmir especially South and North of Kashmir where crackdowns, vandalizing properties, beating, torturing common people, arrests and other oppressive measures have became an order of the day,” it said.
“Similarly NIA and ED terrorism is also going on through which Indians intend to defeat our resistance. Leaders said that likewise thousands of Kashmiris have been put into jails and torture centers where these people are terrorised and intimidated endlessly,” the statement read.
JRL said that from Tihar jail to jails of Jammu and Kashmir, Kashmiri leaders and other people are being put to worst hardships.
Meanwhile, District magistrate Srinagar Syed Abid Rasheed Shah on Sunday said that complete restrictions will be imposed within territorial jurisdiction of Khanyar, Rainawari, Nowhatta, Safakadal and MR Gunj police stations on Monday (27 November, 2017).
There will also be partial restrictions within the territorial jurisdiction of Maisuma and Kral Khud police stations of the district, he said.
The Joint Resistance Leadership has called for a shutdown across Kashmir on Monday against plight of Kashmiri prisoners in various jails within and outside the state.
