Kashmir-based BJP leaders today complained about the high-handed attitude of party ministers at a meeting with party general secretary Ram Madhav in Srinagar.
The leaders condemned the arrogant style of functioning of party ministers while solving day-to-day problems of the people.
Sources said that at the meeting, which was convened by Ram Madhav to discuss organisational matters, some annoyed leaders seized the opportunity to expose their nominees in the government.
“In the meeting attended by over 40 prominent leaders of the Valley, the style of functioning of ministers was opposed by some of the participants,” a Valley- based BJP leader, who wished not to be quoted, told Kashmir Post.
“Valley leaders complained that instead of recognising BJP workers of Kashmir, party ministers gave importance to PDP leaders and workers during official tours to different parts of the Valley,” a source said.
Sources said Ram Madhav, while trying to placate the annoyed leaders, emphasised the need to strengthen the organisation in Kashmir for the next Lok Sabha and Assembly elections.
He told the workers that the J&K Government would announce panchayat elections very soon.
Ram Madhav will arrive in Jammu on Friday to interact with party workers.
“Ram Madhav is likely to attend the party core group meeting at Jammu to review the functioning of the government,” a source said.
