Appeals civil society, transporters, trade bodies to observe black day on the day of hearing of case in SC
The trade body, Kashmir Economic Alliance (KEA), Monday warned that Kashmir would witness a worst bloodbath if anybody tried to fiddle with Article 35-A, which grants special privileges to residents of Jammu and Kashmir.
The traders affiliated with KEA staged a protest demonstration against BJP and RSS-backed NGO, “We the citizens”, which has filed petition against Article 35-A in the Supreme Court.
The protesting traders, chanting slogans like, “Save Article 370 and Article 35-A”, “Stop terrorizing us”, and “We want justice” tried to take out a protest march towards the Ghanta Ghar.
However, the policemen did not allow them to move outside the Press Colony and detained KEA acting Farooq Ahmad Dar along with some of protesting traders.
The protesters threatened that ‘the move will force the people of Kashmir to hit the streets and the worst uprising will occur if state or centre government tries to erode this article.’
Earlier, Dar while addressing the protesting traders amidst chanting of anti-BJP and anti-RSS slogans, said, “If anybody tried to fiddle with Article-35A, Kashmir will witness a worst ever bloodbath. We know BJP and RSS want to change the demography of the state and we won’t allow it.”
“KEA will observe the black day on the day of hearing of case in Supreme court by holding hold black flags. We appeal civil society of Kashmir, transporters, trade bodies and others to observe black day by waving black flags as a mark of protest on the day,” he said.
Dar said nobody in Kashmir would allow abrogation of Article 35-A.
