Kashmir not an issue, just problem of 5 districts: RSS

Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) and its affiliate Bharatiya Janata Party today stressed on changing nation’s narrative on Jammu and Kashmir.
Addressing a seminar “Jammu & Kashmir: the present scenario, our responsibilities and duties” here this evening, RSS Seh-Sarkayavah, Dr. Krishan Gopal said, “Kashmir problem was result of historical blunders but nationalist forces are fighting to end this.”

“Kashmir issue was created by Jawaharlal Nehru for sake of his friendship with Sheikh Abdullah. Had Nehru allowed Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel to handle J&K, the issue would not have been there.”
“Article 35 (A) is nothing but backstabbing with nation as this Article as directly added to the Constitution without any discussion in Parliament”, he said, adding, “Dr B R Ambedkar opposed Article 370 but his voice was unheard by Nehru, who was then riding on friendship of his Kashmir friend who he later sent to jail.” He said Shyama Prasad Mukherjee was first person to take this problem outside Kashmir.
He said the all these Articles were hurdles in development of Jammu and Kashmir.

“When a Bengali was stopped at the gates of J&K for not having required permit to enter and later he died in jail, then the nation came to know about Kashmir and its problem,” he said.
Shyam Jaju, National vice-president BJP said, “We have to build the narrative that there is some issue in Kashmir while Kashmir is not an issue. Only five districts out of 22 districts are affected with turmoil.”
“If there is Naxal movement in Bahir, nobody terms it as Bihar issue; if there is some issue in North East no body terms it as North East problem; so why label the incidents of Kashmir as Kashmir problem,” he added.
“Trouble in Kashmir is not only limited to Jammu & Kashmir. It is problem of whole nation, everybody is worried about it, discussing it and it has given a new dimension to nationalism and unity,” he said.
