Hizbul Mujahideen commander Zakir Musa on Saturday urged girl student protesters to abandon stone-throwing without wearing veil as it was against the Islamic law.
In an audio message released on Saturday evening on social media, the Hizb commander said the girl students protesting on roads without veil was against the Islamic law (Sharia).
“I want to tell sisters that whatever you are doing is against the Sharia law as throwing a stone without wearing veil is unIslamic. In Islam, there are no such protests and that is why the Allah is punishing us in the form of occupation,” said Zakir in an unverified audio message.
Hundreds of students took to streets after protests erupted in the Valley over the clash between security forces and students at Government Degree College, Pulwama, on April 15. In the incident, 54 youths were injured.
A large number of girls participated in the protests that erupted after the incident. The images of girl students, wearing white uniforms, throwing stones at security forces in Srinagar’s Lal Chowk went viral on Facebook.
This is for the first time that the girl students have openly started taking part in stone-throwing against the forces. More than 60 girls have also been injured in the recent clashed that refuse to die down.
In the audio message, Zakir, a former engineering student who is considered as Burhan Wani’s successor, also apologised on behalf of his associate for praising Organisation of Islamic Countries and former Pakistan army chief Gen Raheel Shareef.
“Some days ago, a video of our associate surfaced in which he had called General Raheel as our commander-in-chief. I regret this. He said this by mistake and he too has apologised for this,” Zakir added.
