Hundreds of state youth Congress activists today held massive demonstration under their nationwide programme ‘Hisab do Jawab do’ near Bharatiya Janata Party office ,Kachi Chawani.
Today’s programme was organized by congress in connection to lodge protest against complete failure of the BJP led NDA government at the Centre, who completed their three years in the government.
The protest was held under the leadership of Indian Youth Congress (IYC) Secretary Dr.Uma Shanker Pandey and Pradesh Youth Congress (PYC) president Pranav Shagotra. The protest march was organized by JKPYC and attended by Youth Congress activist from various parts.
Shouting slogans against Central government for betraying the nation, activists of Youth Congress started their protest from Shaheedi Chowk party office which passed through various bazaars and localities. Braving scorching heat, hundreds and hundreds of Youth Congress activists joined by large number of locals marched into the streets of the city amid shouting of slogans. As the activists marched near BJP office at Kacchi Chawni they were stopped by the police from moving further after some scuffle.
Speaking on the occasion, Pandey said that three year tenure of BJP led NDA regime is only an era of unfulfilled promises because except lip services nothing has been done so far. He said that people of the nation is anxiously looking for bullet train, 15 lakh in the account of every individual, 5 crore jobs, smart cities etc.
Pranav, while addressing said that NDA Government headed by BJP is shamelessly taking credit of the projects which were started during UPA regime. “The only noticeable achievements of BJP led government is inauguration of the projects-which were conceptualized and started during UPA regimes”, he said and pointed out that work on the bridge which Prime Minister Narendra Modi has inaugurated today, was started during UPA regime.
Challenging the BJP to come up with any project which was started and completed during the last three years, Shagotra said that some projects which were started during Congress regime for Jammu were also abandoned due to failure of the BJP leadership in the State. He also pointed towards promises made by the BJP leadership with residents of Jammu region but the same are yet to be fulfilled despite passing of three years. He referred to the artificial Lake project on Tawi as one such class example.
