The water level in Jhelum River including rivers and nullahs has started to recede though it was still above danger mark from Sangam in south to Ram Munshi bagh in central Kashmir.
Chief Engineer (CE), Irrigation and Flood Control (I&FC) told Kashmir Post : “The water level at Sangam in south Kashmir has started receding since early Friday morning while there is no change at Ram Munshi Bagh in Srinagar. However, it has witnessed increase at Asham in north Kashmir.”
Deputy Director Meteorological department told Kashmir Post that there could be still light intermittent rain during the day and weather will improve from tomorrow.
Meanwhile, number of areas have submerged in water from south to north in Kashmir Valley.
