Who is the Chief Minister of State, Ram Madhav or Mehbooba Mufti, asks NC

‘Mehbooba’s family members interfering in administrative matters’

National Conference (NC) on Friday, while taking strong notice of “Senior Police Officers meeting BJP General Secretary Ram Madhav” at BJP Office in Jammu while on duty, said this indicated the complete collapse of all administrative systems and protocols.
In a statement issued from Party Headquarters ‘Nawa-e-Subha’ in Srinagar, National Conference Provincial President Kashmir and Former Minister of State for Home, Nasir Aslam Wani said it was unclear as to who was heading the Government as directions were being passed to the civil and police administration from various different quarters.

“Senior Police Officers meeting Ram Madhav at the BJP Office in Jammu while in full uniform and while on duty shows the brazen disregard and contempt that is being shown by certain individuals in the administration towards the non-negotiable tenets of neutrality and objectivity in a democracy. If our Police Officers have to present themselves at the BJP Office in Jammu to take directions from Ram Madhav, one wonders if we should do away with the pretense of having Mehbooba Mufti occupy the Chief Minister’s chair. This is also an insult for the office of the Chief Minister, who also happens to be the Home Minister,” NC Provincial President said.

NC Provincial President said various senior officers in the bureaucracy were complaining about undue and illegitimate pressure and interference being exerted and extended by family members of the Chief Minister.
“What authority does Tassaduq Mufti have to summon officers and pass instructions to senior officers on whatsapp groups? He couldn’t have the courage to contest the Anantnag election but has the audacity to interfere into administrative matters by passing orders by phone and on whatsapp. PDP has converted the State into a Banana Republic as every established system and procedure has been dismantled,”e NC Provincial President added.

“At a recent function organized at SKICC, Tassaduq Mufti – the runaway candidate from Anantnag election – was seen issuing instructions and orders to senior officers and bureaucrats about issues ranging from town planning to urban development to the preservation of culture. We wonder what official authority this gentleman is exerting. Is being the Chief Minister’s brother a constitutional position now? These are unprecedented times and the administration is being treated like a family heirloom,” Nasir Aslam Wani said.
NC Provincial President asked the PDP leadership to clarify how many de-facto Chief Ministers were ruling the State – ranging from the CM’s Uncle, Sartaj Madni to her brother Tassaduq to BJP’s Ram Madhav.
