Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) stalwart Dattatreya Hosabale today hinted that the PDP-BJP political agreement in J&K is not a permanent coalition. He suggested that its performance should be reviewed after repeated intervals.
Addressing ‘Samnway Baithak’ (coordination meeting) of various organisations associated with the Sangh Parivar, Dattatreya said the ideology was paramount for the parivar and there was no reason to compromise on it.
Although Dattatreya did not mention the PDP-BJP alliance in his address, he made a veiled remark towards the coalition between the two parties having diametrically opposite ideologies.
A senior leader, who was present in the meeting, told on the condition of anonymity, that Dattatreya said for the Sangh Parivar power was a secondary thing and the ideology was paramount. “If any arrangement is creating hurdles in pursuing nationalist agenda, we have to rethink about it,” he said.
Dattatreya is joint general secretary (sah-sarkaryawah) and the third seniormost in the hierarchy of the Sangh Parivar. In Jammu for the past three days, he had convened a number of meetings of different organisations.
Highly placed sources said during his meetings, Dattatreya had not received very encouraging response about the performance of the BJP ministers in the coalition government.
In the meetings, the RSS stalwart sought feedback from about the functioning of the coalition government and the BJP ministers.
The sources said Dattatreya made it clear that there was no question of abandoning ideology for the sake of power.
