We Discuss Working Of AOA Everyday: Drabu
The government today ruled out publishing a white paper to highlight the achievements of the coalition under Agenda of Alliance (AOA) during the past two years of governance.
The Finance Minister Dr Haseeb A Drabu today said that there is no need to come out with any kind of report on government’s performance as the AOA is meant to be implemented over a period of six years. “We discuss the working of AOA almost on daily basis be in assembly or outside. There is no proposal on publishing any kind of white paper,” said Drabu while being asked about some MLAs of PDP are demanding that government should come out with a white paper on the achievements made on AOA. The coalition is completing its two year term on March 1, 2017.
Drabu said the AOA was agreed upon with BJP after a lot of discussion and it is not a short term plan. “At that time it was agreed that it will be accomplished in six years. Some work has been done and for accomplishing other things, work is in progress,” said Drabu on the sidelines of launching e-learning programmes for students at public libraries. “Our CM has repeatedly said that the AOA is viable for us and it will be fully accomplished in the six year period.”
Drabu said that their biggest gain has been that AOA is being now agreed upon by opposition parties too. “Be it National Conference or Congress, all have agreed upon the AOA during the last two years and are now demanding for its full implementation,” said Drabu. “For the things which have yet to be implemented during this time, we are working out on plans to accomplish it soon.”
The Finance Minister who is considered as architect of AOA said that government is committed on full implementation of AOA and there should be no doubt on it.
On the security situation, he said that everybody needs to contribute towards peace. “We have to work together to ensure that there is sustainable peace in the Valley and the state. Media has to play a role, government has to play a role, people have by and large to play a role. Young men who were in hundreds here all have to play role. And I think this initiative should also help in some way for the larger purpose,” said Drabu.
