Hurriyat Conference (G) chairman Syed Ali Geelani was Wednesday night admitted to SKIMS, Soura, here for treatment after he complained of severe chest pain.
“The ailing leader is now stable and feeling better,” a spokesman of the Hurriyat (G) in a statement today, said, appealing people to pray for his speedy recovery.
“Late Wednesday night, Syed Ali Geelani complained of massive chest congestion and pain. He was immediately rushed to SKIMS, Soura, here where several tests including ECG were repeatedly conducted. “He was later admitted in medical ICU and continues to be under constant monitoring by specialists. His respiratory system is being closely watched by doctors. The doctors attending on him suggested a few investigations which were later found satisfactory,” the spokesman said.
Meanwhile, the spokesman said thousands of people from all corners of the world called over phone and enquired about Geelani’s condition.
Referring to the expert opinion, the spokesman said, “There is nothing to worry as Syed Ali Geelani is doing well and in the morning after taking breakfast went through local dailies.” He said Hurriyat (G) thanks all those who wished him a speedy recovery The spokesman has appealed people to avoid visiting hospital and requested them to pray for his speedy recovery.
The spokesperson said Pakistan High Commissioner for India Abdul Basit called Geelani on telephone today at 5:00 pm and enquired about his health and prayed for speedy recovery.
Malik, Mirwaiz visit Soura
Meanwhile, Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) Muhammad Yasin Malik visited SKIMS Soura, and enquired about Geelani’s health and prayed for his speedy recovery.
Chairman of Hurriyat (M) Mirwaiz Dr Moulvi Muhammad Umar Farooq prayed for the immediate recovery of Geelani.
“The Mirwaiz today visited the Institute of Medical Sciences, Soura where the veteran resistance leader, Syed Ali Geelani is admitted and enquired about his health and well being, expressed best wishes for his early recovery,” Hurriyat (M) spokesperson said in a statement.
