Airfares soared to new highs on routes connecting Srinagar with other cities as the only surface link with Kashmir continues to remain a non-certainty due to inclement weather.
Tickets for flights to Jammu, less than 45 minutes away by air, went up to several thousands of Rupees. One-way-economy class air travel from Jammu to Srinagar costs around Rs 13,590 on February 6.

Due to forecast of weather improvement from Tuesday onwards, the airfare is likely to come down a little as travel websites show that for February 8 Jammu to Srinagar ticket will be available at lowest Rs 7,934 while the highest fare costs around Rs 13,165.
The business class fares for flights between Jammu and Srinagar are considerably high with one way journey costs at Rs 35,215 on Tuesday.
Flights landing in Srinagar from Delhi and Chandigarh were similarly priced. On Monday the lowest price of Delhi-Srinagar journey was Rs 15,739 while for Tuesday it costs around Rs 14,978.
Similarly, lowest price of one way nonstop 1 hour Chandigarh–Srinagar journey was Rs 10,715 while highest was Rs 19,753 for Tuesday.
