Government forces on Tuesday resorted to teargas shelling to foil a proposed march in Chadoora town of central Kashmir’s Budgam district.
Reports said that dozens of people tried to assemble in Nagam village chowk and stage a rally on the call of separatist leadership which has called for ‘Nagam chalo’ today.
However, forces rushed to the village and resorted to tear smoke shelling to disperse the people.
Reports said that army has also been deployed in the village.
Locals said that three people were detained while an elderly man, identified as Ghulam Qadir, was thrashed by the forces.
Government forces on Tuesday resorted to aerial firing to break up a pro-freedom protest demonstration in Rahmoo village of Pulwama in south Kashmir.
Witnesses and reports said that a large number of people had assembled in Rahmoo village when an army vehicle reached at the spot.
Soon, clashes erupted and army fired several rounds in air to disperse the protesters.
However, the situation returned to normal soon.
