The government holiday on the Gurpurb of the sixth Sikh guru, Guru Hargobind Singh, has been rescheduled and will now be observed this week on Tuesday, a government spokesman said today.
“According to the government order issued by the General Administration Department, the holiday on account of Guru Hargobind Singh Ji’s birthday shall be observed on June 21 (Tuesday) instead of July 5 (Tuesday) in the government offices and educational institutions of the state,” the spokesman said.
The holiday shall be observed under the Negotiable Instruments Act, 1881, as well, the spokesman added.
