JKPCC chief Mir urges voters in Anantnag to defeat PDP chief Mehbooba Mufti
The Congress today warned the electorate in Anantnag that a vote for the Peoples Democratic Party would be a vote for the RSS ideology.
Addressing a joint meeting of party workers and local representatives of the Anantnag constituency, which will see polling for the by election on June 22, J&K Pradesh Congress Committee Chief GA Mir cautioned the people about the “deceitful” poll promises of the PDP in order to secure votes for Mehbooba Mufti.
Yesterday, former Chief Minister and National Conference working president Omar Abdullah too had taken on the PDP while addressing a gathering in Kangsoo village in south Kashmir. He had said that “Nagpur was calling shoots in Kashmir now” and had called Mehbooba “just a puppet”.
“The Peoples Democratic Party is not in a position to face the electorate due to its utter failure on all fronts. The party has not only betrayed the people but also sacrificed its principles,” said Mir.
Reminding the people about the tall claims and promises made by the PDP during the 2014 elections, Mir said not a single promise had been fulfilled. “Instead, the wrong policies and misgovernance on the part of the Peoples Democratic Party have added to the miseries of the people,” he added.
He warned the people that support to the PDP would tantamount to implementing the RSS agenda in the state and accused the PDP for taking directives from Nagpur.
“Defeating the PDP amounts to defeating the RSS,” he said while urging the people to defeat the designs of the RSS. He alleged the RSS was hell-bent on implementing its communal agenda not only in the state but also in the entire country.
“Only the Congress can defeat the designs of the RSS and other communal forces,” he said.
