Terming the proposal of starting yet another Yatra to a cave in Beerwah area of the Budgam district by some Delhi based Abhinav Gupta Shashaderi Samiti as ridiculous and silly, Chairman Hurriyat (G) Syed Ali Shah Geelani said that this is an deliberate attempt to disturb the peaceful environment in the state and is aimed to divert the attention of the people from the present serious situations in Kashmir.
He said that the communal forces of India with the backing of RSS government want hasty implementation of their cultural aggression programs and the state of Jammu & Kashmir is their prime target in this regard. In a statement Syed Ali Geelani said that the communal elements have prepared a false and baseless story regarding a cave in the Beerwah area which is far from the reality. The state high court in reply to a petition had also made it clear that there is no circumstantial evidence available to prove these claims about this cave. And the revenue department had also denied any such story regarding the cave.
Syed Ali Geelani said that it is actually an act of cultural aggression by the communal forces and which is aimed to harm the Muslim identity of the state. He said that these actions are politically motivated and are aimed to divert the attention from the serious situations in Kashmir. They want to disturb the communal harmony of the state so that they can project the genuine struggle of Kashmiris as a communal issue. Syed Ali Geelani cautioned that the fanatic communal forces will not be allowed to succeed in their wicked designs.
Hurriyat chairman appealed the people to be cautious in this regard and resist this cultural aggression program of the communal elements. Hurriyat (G) chairman further said that the Kashmiris are not against the Indian people or their religion but they are struggling for their birth and basic rights. We have always welcomed the Yatris and tourists from India but we cannot compromise with our Muslim and cultural identity and we will resist every such move which is aimed to challenge the Muslim majority status of the state.
