Harassment of Kashmiri students in India flayedAll Parties Hurriyet Conference has expressed grave concern over the arrest and harassment of Kashmiri students in different states of India.

The APHC in a statement issued in Srinagar, today, said that such undemocratic and immoral tactics were meant to destroy the educational career of the Kashmiri students. The statement said that it was the responsibility of the Indian government to protect the Kashmiri students from the attacks by goons of Hindu extremist organizations.

Meanwhile, the Chairman of All Parties Hurriyet Conference, Syed Ali Gilani has been formally invited by the Secretary General of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation, Iyad Ameen Madani, to attend the 13th Summit of the OIC to be held in Istanbul from April 10th. However, the APHC spokesman in a statement said that Syed Ali Gilani would not be able to attend the summit due to lack of travel documents.

Hurriyet leaders Muhammad Yousuf Naqash, Bilal Siddiqui, Hakeem Abdur Rasheed, Mukhtar Ahmad Waza, Zafar Akbar Butt and Muhammad Musaddiq Aadil in their addresses and statements urged the Organization of Islamic Cooperation to play its effective role in settlement of the Kashmir dispute.

The Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front Chairman, Muhammad Yasin Malik in a statement issued in Srinagar condemned the slapping of draconian Public Safety Act on teenage boys in the occupied territory.

Hurriyet leaders, Javaid Ahmad Mir and Engineer Hilal Ahmad War today visited APHC Secretary General, Shabbir Ahmad Shah, at Rajbagh Sub Jail in Srinagar and inquired about his health. Senior Hurriyet leader, Agha Syed Hassan Al-Moosvi Al-Safvi and Muhammad Ramazan Khan in their statements said that Indian authorities were trying in vain to weaken Shabbir Shah’s commitment to the Kashmir cause by placing him under continued illegal detention.

On the other hand, Indian police said that a gunfight was going on between Indian troops and Kashmiri Mujahideen at Dardpora area of Lolab in Kupwara district. There are also reports about an encounter in Gadoora village of Pulwama district.

The APHC-AJK chapter held a peaceful protest outside the United Nations Observers’ Office in Islamabad, today, against the continued illegal detention of Hurriyet leaders in occupied Kashmir. The protest was led by APHC-AJK Convener, Ghulam Muhammad Safi.
