Finance Minister Arun Jaitley said today that political combination of the BJP and PDP was an electoral arithmetic which gave heavy mandate to the BJP in Jammu and PDP in Kashmir to form the government in the state.
He termed the political reality existing in the state as unique and called upon all Kashmir-based political parties and people to join hands with the BJP to fight separatist forces for an overall development of the state.
“We have a political ideologue that doesn’t compromises with any kind of separatism and we will always oppose it. The present coalition should make a good use of the opportunity to fight against separatism and improve infrastructure of the state,” said the Finance Minister.
The Finance Minister was speaking at a function held to inaugurate the new hi-tech BJP party headquarters at Trikuta Nagar. On the occasion, he proposed to make the older office at Kachi Chawni as a research centre on Prem Nath Dogra’s name.
He said though the BJP and PDP both were different ideological parties, but in this political scenario, the coalition needed to move forward accepting the challenges.
The Finance Minister said there was an urgent need to improve the infrastructure of the state and make AIIMS, IIT and IIM living monuments of the state.
“We have the financial strength to improve infrastructure here. Take this political opportunity to complete two works. Arrange the infrastructure for development and join all political parties for a fight against separatism,” said Jaitley. He preferred to skip commenting on the NIT row in his speech.
Minister of State in PMO Jitendra Singh, national general secretary (organisations) Ram Lal and Deputy Chief Minister also spoke on the occasion.
