The 16th Annual Cycle Rally of the Jammu Adventure Sports Club (JASC) was held today. The theme of the rally was “Save Jammu’s Heritage” wherein 300 students aged between 10 to 16 years participated.
The rally was flagged off by Sandeep Gulhati, chairman of the JASC, in the presence of all the members.
Avny Lavasa, Sub Divisional Magistrate (SDM), was the chief guest on the occasion. The rally started from Bahu Plaza and after passing though different areas in the city culminated at Sports Field opposite Green Fields School, Gandhi Nagar.
The main objective of conducting the cycle rally was to create awareness of saving the environment and heritage. The chief guest advised the students to actively participate in all such activities.
Manu Kabra of Heritage School bagged the first prize in the shape of a cycle sponsored by National FIAT. The second and third prizes were Firefox Safety kits. Club general secretary Bhavana Sethi thanked all the sponsors of the event.
The school which participated in the rally included Green Fields School, Presentation Convent School, Jodhamal Public School, Heritage School, KC Public School, KC International and JK Public School.
