Senior vice-president of the Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) Sham Lal Sharma lashed out at the BJP and the PDP at a public meeting in Akhnoor today. He said both parties had created political uncertainty and various factions within the parties were speaking on divergent lines.
The JKPCC leader said both parties should clarify to the people who was responsible for the Governor’s rule.
He said the parties had taken a lot of time after the elections to decide on government formation and the same was the case now.
Sham Lal said the “Agenda of Alliance”, considered as the foundation of BJP-PDP coalition, had clearly been shaken as it was made for six years, but now suddenly the two parties had started renegotiating on confidence-building measures, leading to uncertainty in the state.
“What has changed so much in the past 10 months that the alliance cannot even stand on their so-called ‘sacred’ Agenda of alliance? he asked.
He alleged that the Agenda of Alliance was nothing but an election manifesto of the PDP which was stamped by the BJP for power.
Sham Lal said if the PDP and the BJP feel that the 10-month-long rule on the basis of the Agenda of Alliance had failed and people had been deceived, they should go to the people again.
He also said that if the two parties were unable to form the government, they should clear their stand to the Governor so that the Assembly was dissolved and fresh elections were held.
