The industrialists have preferred to employ non local residents at the Lassipora estate with over 6000 non-state subjects given jobs by different unit holders here. At the estate over 180 units are functional, and as per police records, on an average each unit employs 30-40 non local residents. Sopore, Pampore towns observe shutdown against militant killings

Sopore town of north Kashmir on Wednesday observed complete shutdown against the killing of a local militant in a gunfight in south Kashmir’s Pampore area last evening. Police said Shakir Ahmad Bhat son of Showkat Ahmad of Nowpora Sopore was killed in a brief gunfight with forces in Pampore on Tuesday evening.
