Taking a jibe at BJP’s claim that Pakistan was made to talk terror, working president of the opposition National Conference (NC) Omar Abdullah sarcastically asked the party whether India was also ”made to talk Kashmir by Pakistan.”The former Prime Minister however, welcomed the development, saying that talks between India and Pakistan without the media glare is the way to progress.
The Paris talks between Prime Minister Narendra Modi with his Pakistan counterpart Nawaz Sharif at Paris was ”more than courtesy meeting”, he added.Reacting to BJP claim that the follow up of ‘Ufa talks’ has happened and Pakistan has been made to talk terror, which it had refused so far, the former Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir asked if India was also ”made to talk Kashmir”.
Taking to micro blogging site twitter, Mr Abdullah asked If Pakistan was “made to talk terror” was India also “made to talk Kashmir” since J&K had found no mention in Ufa. Clearly Paris was more than the officially termed “courtesy meeting”. Good to see India & Pakistan resume the dialogue process #NSAtalks, he said. However, he said Perhaps this is the way quiet progress will be made away from each other’s capitals & the glare of media driven expectations. #NSAtalks .
Now the challenge is to make sure the Indo-Pak dialogue process is ring-fenced from incidents designed specifically to derail it #NSAtalks.
Mr Abdullah further tweeted that After very little contact for months,India-Pakistan see meetings b/w PMs NSAs FSs & now EAMs in a span of 10 days.
