Hurriyat (M) joint meet today
Hurriyat Conference led by Mirwaiz Umar Farooq is expecting participation from all sections of society in today’s (Wednesday) meeting to devise a united strategy to counter state government’s “aggressive policies and alternative to frequent strikes and shutdowns.”
Spokesperson and media advisor to Mirwaiz, Advocate Shahid-ul-Islam told that every existing socio, economic and religious organization has been invited to attend the meeting and give their suggestions over forming the new and unified strategy to fight “anti- people policies” of Mufti Muhammad Sayeed led PDP-BJP government.
Chairman, Hurriyat Conference (M) Mirwaiz Umar Farooq had accused present dispensation of adopting ‘revengeful approach’ against the people particular those living in areas of Srinagar. He had also accused the government of using “mighty force to suppress people across Kashmir.”
“We have invited every organization to give its suggestions. Leaders from all separatist organizations, members from transport and trade organizations, clerics, lawyers and people of different sections have been invited for this joint meet to evolve consensus over a new strategy to fight anti- people policies of the government,” he said.
He said the meeting would start at 11 am and would go for few hours at Mirwaiz Manzil here.
The spokesperson also said that people would also give their suggestions through different social networking sites on forming new strategies to counter government’s approach and alternate means of “strikes and shutdowns.”
“Alternate means of protest besides strikes and shutdowns will be also discussed threadbare in the meeting. Suggestions on using alternate means of protest will also sought through social networking sites,” he said.
Government is likely to allow the scheduled meet as authorities have neither detained nor put any leader and activists of Hurriyat (M) under house arrest.

Earlier, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq had told that around 200 participants from different sections of society would have a brainstorming session in the meeting to devise a joint strategy to counter “aggressive” approach adopted by the state government.
