‘Govt imposed curfew in whole city to foil a peaceful march’
All Parties Hurriyat Conference Chairman Syed Ali Geelani has condemned the imposition of curfew in the city to foil the condolence meet at slain Gowhar’s residence in Zainakote. The senior separatist leader also accused the PDP government of shielding the killers.
“The condolence meeting at Zainakote HMT was a peaceful program in the memory of Shaheed Gowhar Nazir Dar an engineering student of SSM College who was killed by the cruel forces of India on Saturday but the government took this program as a challenge and imposed curfew in the entire Srinagar district, “ said Geelani.
He also mentioned that despite curbs some pro-freedom and religious leaders which include Moulana Bashir Ahmad Farooqi, Moulana Ghulam Rasool Hami, Mehraj-ud-din Rabbani, Molvi Javaid, Sayed Riyaz Bukhari and Zaffar Habib succeeded in reaching Zainakote and participated in the condolence program
In a telephonic address, Geelani paid rich tributes to Gowhar Nazir Dar and said that the Mufti Sayeed led government in Kashmir has broken all the previous records of oppression, cruelty and atrocities and the regime is proving to be the worst autocratic rule the Kashmiris have ever witnessed. “On the directions of his masters in New Delhi,Mufti Sayeed has started a war against that pro-freedom leaders and people of the state and has given free hand to the CRPF and police in this regard.”
While strongly condemning the imposition of curfew and the use of brutal force over the mourners in the Zainakote HMT, Geelani said that the state government have deliberately suspended the law and order and are using state terrorism and hooliganism to suppress the voice of subjugated people of Kashmir.
Terming the so-called probe ordered by the administration as eyewash and an attempt to buy time, Hurriyat Chairman said that this probe will meet the same fate which the past hundreds of probes and investigations have met. “Gowhar Nazir’s killing is a cold-blooded murder of an innocent and unarmed student which the CRPF and the police have itself admitted and it was done in front of hundreds of people so ordering probe in such an open murder case is nothing but a time killing process. The probe ordered into the Zainakote youths killing is not new for the people of Kashmir. Such probes and investigations are ordered after every innocent killing in Kashmir but none of the personnel involved in the killing of the innocent people and other war crimes have been prosecuted or punished so far, “said Geelani.
“The final result of this probe will set free the real killers and murderers and the killed person, his relatives and the people protesting against this barbaric killing will be implicated and charge sheeted in that case which is a routine in Jammu & Kashmir, “ added Geelani.
