The BJP today hoped that the economic package announced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi will usher an era of development and prosperity in J&K. It asked the state government to make judicious use of the funds.
“Similar packages will continue to flow from the Central government after receipt of the Utilisation Certificates from the state government,” said Lok Sabha member and BJP state president Jugal Kishore while interacting with media persons here.
Jugal Kishore further said the Prime Minister had expressed the hope that the funds should be utilised by the state government efficiently, effectively and in a transparent manner.
The state BJP chief said the PM’s package contained funds for flood relief, reconstruction and flood management, construction and widening of arterial roads and highways, setting up of power projects, projects for renewable sources of energy, health sector, human resource development, agriculture and food processing, tourism, urban development, security and welfare of displaced people and promotion of various local specialties such as pashmina.
“The Prime Minister has announced that the package does not imply that it is a full stop, but a beginning,” he said. The BJP is committed to fulfilling all its promises to the people as it is well aware of the promises made to the border people and other sections of society, he added.
