People woke up here to a chilly Wednesday morning as the mercury dipped to below freezing point in most parts of Jammu and Kashmir. Traffic on the 434-km-long highway, connecting the Ladakh region with the Kashmir valley resumed on Tuesday after remaining suspended due to snowfall for three days. Abu Qasim mastermind of Udhampur attack killed in encounter in South Kashmir

In a major success for security forces, top Lashkar-e-Taiba commander Abu Qasim, accused of masterminding the Udhampur attack, was killed in an overnight encounter in Kulgam district of Jammu and Kashmir.
