Ink and mobil oil were thrown on Engineer Rashid, an independent lawmaker from Jammu & Kashmir, at the Press Club in Delhi on Monday, days after he hosted a ‘beef party’. This was the second attack on the MLA within a fortnight.
The attack took place when the MLA was addressing a news conference in the capital.
Vishnu Gupta-led Hindu Sena claimed responsibility for ink attack, according to TV reports.
Rashid was earlier this month thrashed by BJP MLAs inside the Jammu & Kashmir assembly for hosting a party where he served beef on the lawns of the government circuit house. Rashid and his supporters staged a protest along with his supporters against the attack.
J&K chief minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed and his predecessor National Conference leader Omar Abdullah had condemned the incident.
