J&K Economic Reconstruction Agency (ERA) chief executive officer Vinod Sharma has urged the contractors to strictly follow dust suppression measures during construction works.
He passed the directions after an interaction with the shopkeepers and locals here yesterday during an inspection of works being executed by the J&K ERA in Srinagar city under the ongoing Jammu and Kashmir Urban Sector Development Investment Programme (JKUSDIP) funded by Asian Development Bank (ADB).
The CEO conducted a site inspection of 2.4 km-long expressway corridor from Jehangir Chowk-Rambagh corridor, which is estimated to cost Rs 250 crore.
An ERA official said he also inspected Rs 42-crore storm water drainage project along the national highway bypass and Rs 114-crore storm water drainage project from Rawalpora to Chanapora.
During the site visit of Jehangir Chowk-Rambagh expressway corridor, the CEO of ERA inspected various sections of the expressway corridor where work is currently under way. He inspected the work on laying of deck slabs near Solina and instructed the engineers to adhere to quality parameters and safety guidelines.
Later, he visited the Athawajan and Rawalpora areas where construction of two mega storm drainage projects is under execution by the ERA. He directed the contractor to gear up the work on the construction of pumping station at Athawajan to ensure the timely completion of work.
