Senior Hurriyet leader and the Jammu and Kashmir Democratic Freedom Party (DFP) Chairman, Shabbir Ahmad Shah has said that if the Kashmir dispute is not resolved at the earliest, the threat of nuclear war will continue in the region.
Shabbir Ahmad Shah in a statement issued in Srinagar lauded the stance of Pakistani leadership on Kashmir regarding talks with India that Kashmiris were the main stakeholders in the dialogue process.
He maintained that the rising discourse on Kashmir dispute at global forums was moral victory for the people of Kashmir and India would have to succumb to the world pressure sooner or later and settle the dispute in accordance with the Kashmiris’ aspirations.
He urged New Delhi to respond positively to the efforts of Pakistan and resolve the Kashmir dispute through tripartite dialogue in line with the relevant UN resolutions. He termed India’s refusal to accept Kashmiri Hurriyet leadership as stakeholders of the dispute as frustration and narrow mindedness.
Meanwhile, Shabbir Ahmad Shah while paying rich tributes to the youth martyred in Handwara and Rafiabad areas said that they sacrificed their lives for the Kashmir cause and against the oppressive rule of India. “We’ll always be indebted to their invaluable sacrifices,” he added.
