Given the growing concerns over the fragile ecology, state’s tourism policymakers are unlikely to permit a road to the northern paradise the Bangus Valley. Police rescued 25 bovine animals that were being smuggled to Kashmir from Udhampur district of Jammu and Kashmir, while the smugglers managed to flee. Two unidentified men were on their way to Kashmir along with 25 bovine animals on foot when a police team intercepted them at Chenani on Jammu-Srinagar national highway last night, a police spokesperson said.
