Reacting to statement of “Hindu communal and fanatic forces,” threatening economic blockade of Kashmir, Chairman JKLF (H) and senior Hurriyat (M) leader Javaid Ahmad Mir today said, the conspiracies were being hatched “to turn Jammu into Israel and Kashmir into Palestine”.
He in a statement issued today said: “So called government led by PDP at the behest of RSS has spread an atmosphere of terror in Jammu and Kashmir. Kashmiri Muslims, who have sacrificed more than hundred thousand lives, cannot be mowed by such mean tactics and we will remain steadfast to our religious belief and Kashmir struggle.”
Mir said that these forces were using several ploys to divert the attention of the people from the Kashmir struggle.
“Sometime the issue of settling refugees is raked up, sometimes the government wants to build separate colonies for Pandits and retired army men, sometimes it talks of rescinding article 370, and now under the garb of court orders they have planned to ban beef in the State,” he said, adding, under the garb of recent court order about implementing beef ban, these “fanatic groups and leaders” were showing their true colors and are openly “advocating anti-Muslim and anti-Kashmir policies”.
Mir asked people to ‘remain alert and vigilant of conspiracies hatched by those forces” who are hell bent to “weaken” the Muslim identity of Jammu & Kashmir.
Demanding “immediate release” of DeM Chief Aasia Andrabi, Muhammad Qasim Fakhtoo, Masarrat Aalam Bhat, Ghulam Qadir Bhat, Zahoor Bhat, Javaid Ahmad Najar, Muhammad Shafi Shariati, Suhail Koul, Muzafar Dar and other youth and other political workers on the eve of Eid ul Azha, Mir said, “Such dictatorial action would in no way weaken the resolve and commitment of Kashmiri people and its leadership.”
