Authorities imposed restrictions in Srinagar on Saturday to prevent protests in the wake of a militant’s killing the previous day, police said. “District Magistrate Srinagar has imposed restrictions under section 144 CrPc in Parimpora, Safa Kadal, M.R.Gunj, Nowhatta, Khanyar, Rainawari, Maisuma and Kralkhud areas,” the police said. Life was affected in Kashmir valley on Monday due to a shutdown called by traders, transporters and resistance leadership against “high-handedness” of the National Investigation Agency.
