Rains lash plains, Upper reaches receive fresh snowfall across Kashmir

The upper reaches of Kashmir on Wednesday received fresh snowfall, while rains lashed plains including Srinagar even as weatherman has predicted light precipitation during next 24 hours. An official of the Meteorological department said that fresh snowfall was recorded in Gulmarg, Sonamarg and other areas of Kashmir. The upper reaches of the Valley including the famous ski resort of Gulmarg experienced fresh snowfall on Tuesday while plains including Srinagar were lashed by rains. A weather department official said ski resort of Gulmarg in north Kashmir, Shopian in south Kashmir and upper reaches of Banihal, Jawahar Tunnel, Ramban and Patnitop areas experienced fresh snowfall today.
