Below normal minimum temperatures continued in most parts of Kashmir on the fifth straight day. First sub-zero temperatures of the season were recorded at many places during the night intervening Thursday and Friday. Kupwara, in north Kashmir, shivered at minus 0.9 degrees Celsius, which was 1.4 degrees below the average and was this season’s coldest night. Gulmarg, the popular ski-resort in north Kashmir, recorded night temperature above the freezing point at 0.6 degrees Celsius as the snow cover shrunk over the area, after over 5 inches of snowfall last week.…
