Militants attack BSF convoy on Jammu-Srinagar highway, 3 jawans injured

Days after the daring terror attack in Punjab’s Gurdaspur, some unidentified militants attacked the BSF convoy in Jammu and Kashmir in the wee hours of Wednesday. According to initial reports, the BSF convoy was attacked near Udhampur on the Jammu and Srinagar Highway. Some other reports coming from the area furher suggested that the attack happened at Sanruli, some 10 km from from Udhampur. The militants threw a grenade on the BSF convoy, injuring three jawans. Police detained 15 protesters on Monday, the fourth day of the Jammu bandh called by the AIIMS Coordination Committee (ACC), demanding a notification to set up an All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in the Jammu region. Flash floods hit Kupwara and Leh Areas

Flash floods hit two regions of Jammu and Kashmir on Monday, causing heavy damage, police said. An official said that the floods caused massive extensive damage in Leh region of Ladakh division. He said Brenwari area of frontier district of Kupwara was also hit by flash floods early today. However, there was no immediate report of any casualties.
