A youth has been detained by police for allegedly misusing social media to gather information about security forces in Jammu.
“A youth was detained for misusing social media with his fake account, and trying to extract vital information related to security forces in Akhnoor belt of Jammu district,” a police officer said.
A case of criminal conspiracy, waging war against the country under relevant sections of penal code and IT Act has been registered against him, he said, adding further investigation is going on.
He said that general public has been advised that due care and precautions may be taken while chatting on social media.
