Domestic gas consumers in Kashmir complain that their LPG subsidy amount is not being forwarded to their bank account from last several months. Govt panel recommends Rs 4 lakh each for youth blinded by pellets

An official panel tasked with identifying pellet victims with grievous eye-injuries for compensation has recommended that the victims who have lost vision in both eyes be given Rs four lakh each. Officials also said a proposal for compensating those whose one eye has been “completely blinded” by pellet shotguns last year is also under “active consideration”. While people will observe World Blood Donor Day tomorrow, all 31 blood banks in the state are without valid licences, which are under the scrutiny of the Drug and Food Control Organisation (DFCO), J&K.
