Neither Hurriyat, nor Pakistan stakeholders in Kashmir: BJP

The BJP today made it clear that neither the All Party Hurriyat Conference (APHC) nor Pakistan was the real stakeholder in the final resolution to the vexed Kashmir issue.
The BJP issued the statement after its coalition partner PDP had strongly favoured the involvement of all stakeholders, including the APHC and Pakistan, in the dialogue process.
In a handout issued here, state BJP spokesman Brig Anil Gupta (retd) took strong exception to PDP vice-president Sartaj Madni’s statement in which Madni had recommended dialogue with all stakeholders, including Hurriyat and Pakistan.
“The BJP does not consider these two as the real stakeholders. The Hurriyat has been exposed thoroughly wherein it has been established that its leaders are on the payroll of Pakistan and that the country has been funding the Hurriyat for fomenting trouble in Kashmir,” Gupta said. He said, “How can an outfit which is responsible for killing of Kashmiris at the behest of an enemy nation be a stakeholder in bringing back normalcy in Kashmir is a question every responsible citizen of this state is asking?”
Drawing the attention of the PDP leader to the Agenda of Alliance, Gupta said it did not make any reference to talks with the Hurriyat by the coalition government.
