Top NC leader dares Indian army chief, says Kashmir people have love for insurgents

National Conference Thursday said that the Indian Army Chief’s latest remarks wherein he said that people creating hurdles during anti-militancy operations in Jammu and Kashmir will be dealt as anti-nationals amply proves that India has no sympathies with the common people of Kashmir.
“The Army Chief Bipin Rawat’s statement is the moral victory for the militants and for those who support and follow them. Army Chief forgot that there are aspirations and sentiments and people want resolution to Kashmir issue,” National Conference leader Dr Sheikh Mustafa Kamal told news agency CNS.
General Rawat had said security forces in J&K are facing higher casualties due to manner in which the local population is preventing them in conducting the operations and “at times even supporting the terrorists to escape.” Castigating Army Chief, Kamal said that there is not an iota of doubt in this fact that people in Kashmir have faith and love for militants. “Why India has been scared of reality and why it is not accepting the ground reality. The fact is that people have love for militant and that is why they run towards encounter sites to ensure their escape. Instead of threatening the common people, India needs to understand the reality,” Kamal said.
Kamal said that India has been playing dirty and coercive politics in Jammu and Kashmir since 1953. “Since 1953, India has been forcing to follow their diktats. New Delhi has pushed Kashmiri’s to wall. People in rural areas today run towards encounter sites to save the lives and property. People don’t have faith in India. Kashmir is an issue that needs a solution. Threatening people of dire consequences will make things more complicated for India,” he said and alleged that people of Kashmir in rural belts are being harassed in the name of encounters and search operations.
