Usman Majeed abducted me twice during Ikhwan days: MLA Noor Muhammad

Member Legislative Assembly (MLA) Batamaloo and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) leader, Noor Muhammad Sheikh on Wednesday told the House the that he was abducted by Usman Majeed who according to him was was Deputy Commander of the Kuka Parray-led Ikhwan group.
During the question hour session, which was already disrupted by the opposition party members, MLA Batamaloo stood up with point of information for the House and said Congress MLA from Bandipora Usmaan Majeed threatened to “kill me once I come out of the House”. He said, I fear for my life as Usman was militant, and then Ikhwani and now an MLA.”

Sheikh made these remarks on the floor of the Lower House when the entire opposition party members had staged a walkout to mark their protest against the government refusal to order a judicial probe into civilian killings in Kashmir during 2016 uprising.
Upon hearing this, the PDP members asked the Speaker to provide security to Noor Muhammad Sheikh.
Meanwhile, the remarks enraged Usman Majeed who returned to House after a walk out and stormed into the Well of the House to register his protest.

“These are all baseless allegations. He spoke against me when I was not inside the House,” the angry Usmaan Majeed said.
The House witnessed heated exchange with the two Lawmakers trading charges against each other.
MLA Batamaloo told the House that he was kidnapped twice during 90’s by Usman Majid’s party during Ikhwan days.
“I was abducted twice when Kuka Parray was chief of Ikhwan and he (Usman) was a deputy commander. First time my father paid Rs 1 lakh and later he paid Rs 60000 to them (Ikhwan group) for my release,” he said.
Enraged by the remarks, Usmaan Majeed told the House that, “If anyone has abducted him (MLA Batamaloo) during anti-militancy drive, then he might have been a militant”.
On Tuesday, Usman Majeed submitted Breach of Privilege motion against MLA Batamaloo for his “killer” remarks and submitted it to Deputy Speaker Nazir Ahmad Gurezi.
Earlier, MLA Batamaloo Noor Muhammad had said: “You have no right to talk about the killings. We know how scores of people in Sonawari and Bandipora were killed during Ikhwan reign. Eight members of a family in Sadarkoot Bala were killed and you were directly or indirectly involved in it. Now you are demanding the probe into the killings,” the PDP lawmaker had alleged.
Enraged by the remarks, Usman allegedly attempted to assault the lawmaker even as he asked him to apologize for the remarks.
“I have submitted privilege motion against him. Let the House talk on that,” Usmaan Majeed said.
Usmaan said he went to Pakistan and picked the gun but later realised Kashmir was a political problem created by every politician.
“I can furnish the evidence. Don’t provoke me to open up. All politicians are here (House) because of the violence in Kashmir,” Usmaan said and accused PDP members of making people to suffer due to their “senseless” politics.
“If I have told Noor Muhammad I will kill him, I take my words back. But I am not afraid of anyone not ever Pakistan,” he said and mocked at MLA Batamaloo saying Usmaan was an identity in himself ‘But you got an identity after becoming an MLA,” he said.
Usmaan questioned the integrity of PDP members and said, “Was I clean when I was part of Mufti government?”
Pointing towards the treasury benches he accused PDP members of provoking militants to kill Natiional Conference workers.
Later, independent MLA and Chairman AIP Er Abdul Rasheed said PDP should apologize for giving a portfolio of a minister to Usmaan Majeed, “If he was an Ikhwani.”
