Airlines (Pvt) fleece customers, cancel flights at 11th hour

The private Airlines at Srinagar International Airport are fleecing customers by cancelling the already booked tickets at the eleventh hour.
People travelling from Kashmir to Delhi say that they are facing immense problems as the Airlines are cancelling the flights without assigning any reason and have also increased the fares on their own.
The travelers especially students and patients visiting or returning from Delhi said that the Airlines which include Indigo, Airindia, Vista, and Jet Airlines are cancelling the flights without any prior communication to them.
“We had already booked the tickets and were scheduled to depart from Srinagar International Airport on 24 November but they cancelled the tickets a number of times,” said Manzoor Ahmad customers from Budgam.
Dr Sajad Wani from Srinagar “who was asked to give extra money” said, “The Spice Jet Airlines were selling tickets on exorbitant prices on 24 November.”
Wani, who is an eyewitness, told Kashmir Post that Airlines have increased the fares and are exploiting the customers.
“I could not understand what extra they give to the customers,” he added.
“I booked the tickets but on the day of departure they told me that the flights have been cancelled without communicating the customers. It is annoying especially to those who have to come from far off places of Kashmir,” he said.
“If any flight gets cancelled they should at least inform customers before,” he added.
“We fail to understand why other Airlines are working on the same day when our flights get cancelled,” said another customer.
“My grandfather and grandmother were scheduled to go to Delhi last week. We had already booked the tickets. We were informed that there was no flight. They have been cancelled,” said Zahid a customer.
He said, “This was for the 4th time our tickets were cancelled.”
“They are just abandoning the customers. They are cheating us,” customers told Kashmir Post.
