Resistance Group announce 2 day relaxation after 133 days of shutdown

Urge people to use public transport, hoist black flags on vehicles

The separatist leaders, who a spearheading the ongoing agitation in the Valley after killing of 21-year-old Hizbul Mujahideen commander Burhan Wani on July 8, on Wednesday announced full day breaks in shutdown on November 19 and 20.
“There would be a full day relaxation in shutdown on November 19 (Saturday) and November 20 (Sunday),” reads a joint statement issued this evening by separatist leaders Syed Ali Geelani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Mohammad Yasin Malik.
They urged people to use exclusively public transport on the two days to support the transport community. “All vehicles should hoist black flags as a mark of protest”.
It would be after 133 days of continued shutdown that there would be two full days relaxation in the strike and shops and business establishments would open for the day and public transport ply on roads on November 19 and 20.
Kashmir has been observing shutdown and unrest since July 9, a day after killing of Burhan and two of his associated in an encounter with forces in South Kashmir.
According to fresh weekly calendar announced by separatist leaders, there would be complete shutdown without any relaxation on Friday (November 18).
“People of Kupwara, Baramulla, Bandipora, Budgam, Ganderbal, Srinagar, Pulwama, Shopian, Kulgam, Anantnag should march towards the district headquarters. After Friday prayers, people should hold freedom congregation at the place identified and agreed upon locally and mutually,” stated the leaders.
They said there won’t be any relaxation in shutdown on November 21 and 22. “On November 21, people should march to their respective district headquarters. On November 22, women should assemble and occupy local chowks and centres from Zuhr to Asr in vicinity of their mohallas, villages and localities and protest with flags, placards and banners with freedom messages and slogans”.
“On November 23 (Wednesday), there would be relaxation from 4 pm to 7 am. People from Kupwara should march to Mawer Qalamabad, Baramulla to Narwav, Bandipora to Nowgam, Budgam to Surasyar, Ganderbal to Doderhama-Beehama, Srinagar to Batamaloo, Pulwama to Karimabad, Shopian to Kanji Ullar, Kulgam to Redwani and Anantnag to Breng. People should stage hold freedom congregation at the place identified and agreed upon locally and mutually after Zuhr prayer,” they said.
The leaders said on November 24 (Thursday), there would be relaxation from 4 pm to 7 am. “People should hold one day Azadi convention in respective areas. People should deliberate and discuss ways and means to strengthen the ongoing uprising for freedom”.
