Shutdown called in Chenab valley tomorrow against RSS rallies
A shutdown has been called on Saturday to protest against the RSS rallies held in Kishtwar district and other sensitive areas of the Chenab Valley of Jammu and Kashmir.
The announcement was made by Imam Jamia Masjid Kishtwar Farooq Ahmad Kitchloo after a meeting of Majlis Shoura Committee.
While making the announcement after the congregational Friday prayers, Kitchloo appealed to all the shopkeepers and other business establishments besides schools and colleges to observe the shutdown.
Earlier, in his sermon, Kitchloo said that it was irresponsible on the part of the government and district administration for permitting the right-wing organisation to hold rallies in the sensitive areas of Chenab Valley, including Kishtwar.
“Muslims don’t fear of your rallies anymore,” he addressed the right-wing group. “We are only concerned about the peace and brotherhood in the Chenab Valley.”
He said that Chenab Valley is known for peace and brotherhood in the state. “… but such kind of rallies would destroy the peace and stability across the region.”
