Clashes erupt in Anantnag, 02 Women among 12 injured; Shutdown, Protest in Bhaderwah, Kishtwar, Banihal against civilian killings

Clashes erupt in Anantnag, several injured
Clashes between the government forces and protesters erupted in Shangran village of Doru area in Anantnag district on Wednesday. Local sources told Kashmir Post that a freedom rally was proposed in the area and people in large numbers started moving towards the venue early today raising pro-freedom and anti-India slogans. Authorities had already deployed heavy deployment which swung into action and fired tear smoke canisters to disperse the protesting people ensuing clashes. They said several were injured and clashes were going on when reports last came in.

Shutdown, protest in Bhaderwah on Hurriyat call
Muslims in Bhaderwah on Wednesday staged a protest amid a complete shutdown to protest against the unabated civilian killings in Kashmir.
All shops and commercial establishments belonging to Muslims remained closed on the call of resistance leadership in Kashmir which had called for a shutdown in solidarity with the people of Chenab Valley and Pir Panjal regions.
A protest was staged within the premises of Markazi Jamia Masjid, on the call of Anjuman Islamia Bhadarwah to show their resentment over the “worst kinds of human rights violations” in Kashmir and increasing incidents to “communalise the situation in Chenab Valley by the RSS.”
Anjuman Islamia alleged that Kashmiris were facing worst kinds of human rights violations since last 75 days and even minors and females were being subjected to inhuman torture by the security forces.
“Security forces in Kashmir are on a killing spree and every day dozens of people including children are losing their eyesight and are being seriously wounded. But surprisingly instead of stopping this bloodshed and inhuman acts, both Union and State government are justifying these cowardly acts which is unfortunate and totally uncalled for,” said President Anjuman Islamia Bhadarwah Pervaiz Ahmed Sheikh.
He said the protest was held to “strongly condemn” what he termed as biased attitude of government towards Kashmiri people. “We won’t let succeed the nefarious designs of RSS and some communal officers to communalise the situation in Chenab Valley.” Other speakers advocated immediate initiation of tripartite talks between India, Pakistan and Kashmiri people. They stressed upon the international community to use their influence to persuade Indian government to give Kashmiris right to self determination.

Kishtwar shuts against civilian killings in Kashmir
A complete shutdown is being observed in Kishtwar district against the unabated civilian killings in Kashmir and booking of youths in the district in various cases.
The call for shutdown was given by Imam Jamia Masjid Kishtwar Farooq Ahmed Kichloo after a decision taken by the Majlis-e-Shoora comprising various Imams of the Masjids and the religious bodies.
The shutdown was observed to express solidarity with the people of Kashmir region in view of civilian killings and against the district administration Kishtwar for registering FIRs against youths and Imams of Kishtwar.
All business establishments in Kishtwar district including schools remained closed while thin attendance was recorded in government offices.

Banihal shuts on separatist’s call
A complete shutdown was Wednesday observed in Banihal area on Srinagar-Jammu highway to exhibit solidarity with the people of Pir Panchal and Chenab Valley. The shutdown call was given by separatist leaders.
As per reports shops and commercial establishments are closed in the town and authorities have snapped mobile Internet and broadband service in the area.
