Amid Jamhuriyat & Insaniyat Curfew, Clashes, Protests, Pro-Freedom Rallies continued across Valley on 63rd Day. Pellets are continuing to rain on protesters. Scores have been injured in the clashes between forces & protesters. Some with serious injuries have been shifted to Srinagar.

Clashes Follow Post Joint Friday Congregation In Sopore
A massive Friday congregation was held in North Kashmir’s Sopore town today. People from all villages marched towards main Jamia Masjid and offered mandatory Friday prayers there. Soon after the Namaz ended, people took out a pro-freedom rally amid anti-India and pro-freedom slogans.
“The rally was dispersed off near Chankhan bridge as forces including CRPF and police men fired tear gas canisters and pellets on the protestors,” eyewitnesses said. Reports said that several civilians were injured, however, they were treated locally. One injured from Warpora was shifted to hospital. He was hit by pellets in legs.
Meanwhile, hundreds of people offered mandatory Friday prayers in Rebban village of Rafiabad assembly segment. People from adjacent villages offered prayers together in the Eidgah. The people from various villages offered Friday prayers jointly in Rebban village of Rafiabad on Sep 09, 2016. Later, they took out a peaceful protest rally shouting pro-freedom and anti-India slogans from Rebban to Nowpora Sopore. Women folk were seen to offering water to people in the procession.

No Friday prayers at Jamia Masjid for 9th consecutive week
Authorities disallowed Friday prayers for the ninth consecutive week at the Jamia Masjid in Nowhatta area of downtown Srinagar.
Curfew-like restrictions were placed in the area on the movement of people to prevent them from participating in pro-freedom protests.
“The area has been sealed and forces have been deployed in strength to prevent people from reaching the mosque,” said a resident.
Kashmir remained shut for the 63rd consecutive day today with reports of pro-freedom protests and clashes dropping in from various parts.

Protests, clashes in Hazratbal after prayers
Soon after Friday prayers ended at Dargah Hazratbal people started raising pro-freedom and anti-India slogans, reports said.Police swung into action and fired many tear smoke canisters to disperse the protesters.
Sources said that a large number of people tried to take out a march after prayers which was foiled by government forces.

Clashes Erupt In Heewan, Dooru; Many Injured
A massive pro-freedom rally in Baramulla district was attacked by forces including CRPF and police resulting in intense clashes between the two sides.
Reports reaching here said that a pro-freedom rally was held in Heewan village of Baramulla on Friday when forces attacked it. “Forces fired tear gas canisters,” locals said, “intense clashes followed.”
Many people were injured in the clashes, they said. Reports coming from Islamabad’s Dooru area said that soon after mandatory congregational Friday prayers were over, protests erupted. “Soon forces fired tear gas canisters on the protesters which resulted in clashes,” report said.
In Waghama Bijbehara, people from different villages jointly offered Friday prayers. As the prayers ended, a peaceful protest rally was taken out.

Four injured in Shopian clashes; one referred to Srinagar
At least four persons were injured after government forces allegedly fired pellets at protesters in Shopian town in south Kashmir on Friday. Hospital sources said that four persons have been hit by pellets.
One of the injured, identified as Ajaz, was referred to Srinagar for advanced treatment, they said.
Reports said that youths defied curfew and stage protests in Shopian town.
They said that forces deployed in the area tried to disperse the protesters, triggering clashes.

Forces Teargas ‘Aazadi’ Protests in Bandipora; Pro-Freedom Rallies in Ganderbal
Aazadi rallies, protests, demonstrations continued for the 63nd consecutive day today across length and breadth of Kashmir. Reports reaching here said that clashes erupted in Gulshan chowk area of north Kashmir’s Bandipora district after congregational Friday prayers.
Earlier people assembled in Jamia Masjid Bandipora and offered congregational prayers. Locals said that people took out a peaceful rally after prayers seeking Aazadi from “Indian occupation” and against the civilian killings and nocturnal raids.
However the men in uniform used force against them. A local told Kashmir Post over phone that the people were peacefully raising slogans. “However police and other forces fired tear gas canisters on them.” Meanwhile, protest rallies were taken out across central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district.
The residents said that despite authorities not allowing Friday prayers at Beehama Jamia Masjid for the seventh consecutive week, rallies were taken out after Friday prayers in Beehama, Safapora, Manigam, Batwina, Kangan and Preng areas of the district.

Scores injured in Baramulla clashes, three hit with pellets on eyes
Scores of persons were injured three among them were hit with pellets on eyes in Baramulla after government forces fired tear smoke shells and pellets on protesters at Heevan village in Baramulla district Friday.
“We have received three persons with pellet injuries on eyes,” said Medical Superintendent District Hospital Baramulla. Rest of the injured were shifted to local hospital for treatment, sources said.
Sources said that army’s 46 RR, SOG and JK police personnel jointly vandalised the venue of a freedom rally at Heevan, Naarvaw where people in thousands had gathered to offer joint Friday prayers.
They said the window panes of two Masjid’s were smashed and loud speaker machines were seized by forces. Besides, forces also burnt down a shamyana erected for the rally.
“Despite attempts by security forces to foil the huge freedom rally, people offered Friday prayers at the venue- Heevan Eid-Gah,” sources said.
People had planned to take out a rally after Friday prayers. However after raid by forces, people dispersed to different locations. Sources said, clashes erupted at many location in the area in which scores sustained injuries.
Clashes were also reported at Khanpora Bridge in main town Baramulla after Friday prayers. A huge freedom procession was also taken out at Watergam in Rafiabad after prayers.
