Dont take ‘Undue advantage of Emergency’; Hurriyat (G) to People

“People of Jammu and Kashmir have risked their everything for the movement, daily killings, scores of injuries, 52 days of strict siege and more that Rs 140 crore daily financial loss have earned this uprising a priceless tag,” the Hurriyat Conference stated this evening.

“But India by its nefarious designs and wicked conspiracies try their best to derail it through their paid local agents. They pay sumo and auto drivers hefty sum to run their vehicles empty. They encourage their famous departmental stores to run their business under the police cover in civics. Some SRTC buses are plying on roads and carry the passengers free,” the Hurriyat Conference revealed.

“We once again appeal these people that before starting their work, they should question their conscious that by doing so aren’t they disrespecting the blood of martyrs, rubbing salt to the fresh and deep wounds of our injured people and dishonouring the collective decision of our trade and transport fraternity,” it said.

The statement said that Hurriyat cautioned “these” people that “we have an eye on these issues and we not only know these faces but also recognize them as well”.

“But still we strongly appeal to their collective conscience that those thriving at the behest of Delhi may pay you hefty sums, they may also reward you for becoming ‘Mir Jaffars’ and ‘Mir Sadiqs’. But time will come when you can’t bear the burden of taking the side of killers and beasts and you will surely succumb to your own conscience,” the Hurriyat Conference led by Hurriyat patriarch said.

It further said, “time is always in motion and when your bad time comes there will be no scope for ‘Mafi-Namas’ and your ugly faces can hardly be forgotten.”

However, Hurriyat hailed the peoples’ courage and determination who have faced all odds for the last 2 months.

“This sacred uprising demands from us that we raise above all the trivial issues and behave as one nation with only one mission and goal that is Azadi from Indian forced occupation,” the Hurriyat Conference observed.

“On the one hand, this uniformed and collective wave of uprising has unnerved the Indian establishment and at the same time it has generated a sense of nation-hood and unanimity amongst the masses. This is a very positive and encouraging outcome of this struggle. We need to be prepared for a long and sustained movement with much harder days ahead, but have to ensure that nobody amongst us is deprived of the basic necessities of life. We have to curtail the marriage expenses, defer the construction work and learn to live with minimum,” the Hurriyat Conference told the general masses.

But it criticized the “movement of private vehicles as they seem to add to the propaganda of near normalcy by the government”.

“People are requested not to take undue advantage of ‘emergency’ and restrict the vehicular movement during the strike hours,” the Hurriyat said.

Meanwhile, the Hurriyat Conference said that in response to the notice served by NIA yesterday afternoon, Dr Naeem Geelani, son of Hurriyat Conference Chairperson Syed Ali Geelani, attended the office of this investigating agency in Shivpora today at 12:00 noon along with his legal advisor, “but the concerned people had already left for Delhi”.

Hurriyat further said, “Incharge at the office called the authorities on phone to convey them that the said Dr (Naeem) has attended the office.”
