Clashes erupted in Hygam, Shopian several injured; Handwara on boil; Clashes, Protests in Baramulla

Four persons were injured in clashes in south Kashmir’s Shopian district on Friday.
Witnesses said that four persons were injured in clashes at Baba Mohalla and Golchakri areas of the Shopian town.
One of the youths, who suffered an injury in the eye, has been shifted to Srinagar for advanced treatment.

Several persons were injured in clashes that erupted in Hygam area of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Friday.
The clashes erupted after government forces intercepted a rally of hundreds of people from Hygam and its adjoining villages heading towards the highway.
Several persons were injured after forces lobbed scores of teargas shells into the rally.

Intense clashes erupted in South Kashmir’s Shopian between forces and protesters on Friday.
Reports said that as soon as the mandatory congregational Friday prayers, stone pelting started in main chowk Shopian.
Reports said that the youths raised pro-freedom slogans and clashes erupted. Local reports said that forces resorted to tear gas and pellet firing.
“At least three persons were injured who were rushed to Shopian hospital,” sources said.
“One of the injured was hit by pellets and he has been shifted to Srinagar,” a doctor at district hospital Shopian told Kashmir Life.
Meanwhile, reports reaching here said that clashes between protesters and forces erupted in Bandipora and Kaloosa in north Kashmir after Friday prayers.
A massive rally was held at Bandipora which was tear-gassed by forces resulting in the clashes.
Similar kind of pro-freedom rally was held at Kaloosa which met the same fate at the hands of forces. However, peaceful rallies were held at Papchan, Saderkote, Ajas and Naidkhai areas of the district, the reports added.

Intense clashes between protesters and government forces erupted in north town of Handwara after prayers. A dozen of persons including 4 forces personnel were injured, local sources said.
They accused government forces of barging into residential houses and beating up inmates at Harpora locality.

Clashes erupted across Baramulla district in north Kashmir after Friday prayers after people took to streets and staged anti-India and pro-freedom demonstrations.
In Palhallan area, clashes broke out today afternoon after forces intercepted protesters at Srinagar-Baramulla highway.
The forces’ action triggered clashes in the area, in which at least five youths sustained injuries.
In nearby Pattan area, sporadic clashes between protesting youths and police occurred after the congregational prayers.In old town Baramulla, a massive protest rally was carried out.
After offering joint Friday prayers at Qadeem Eidgah, people took out a massive protest rally and passed through various parts of old town.
However, the marchers later dispersed off peacefully.
Meanwhile, sporadic clashes between youths and police took place at Azad Gunj and Kanlibagh areas of uptown.
Forces burst several teargas shells to quell the protesting youths.
