Two more civilians have succumbed to their injuries in Aripanthan area of Beerwah in Budgam district Tuesday morning while 15 others were injured. Sources told Kashmir Post, CRPF personnel have opened fire on a group of protesters.
Out of four killed in Aripanthan, three persons have been identified as Javid Najar, Mohammad Ashraf Wani – father of two, and Tauqeer Ahmad. However, the fourth person is yet to be identified.
With these four killings, the death toll since July 9 has reached to 65.
Home Minister Rajnath Singh on Tuesday chaired a high-level emergency security meeting on Kashmir in New Delhi, reports said. NSA Ajit Doval, Home Secy, and Director Intelligence Bureau are also present. The meeting has been called to discuss the security situation in Jammu Kashmir which has seen violent clashes since the killing of Commander Burhan Wani on July 8.
