Sangh puts onus on BJP, says don’t ignore national interests for Govt formation

Sangh puts onus on BJP, says don’t ignore national interests during Govt formationThe Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) has cautioned against ignoring national interests while taking any political decision on Jammu and Kashmir.
Putting onus on the BJP to take a final call on restitching alliance with the PDP, the RSS is reportedly not against Mehbooba Mufti as Chief Minister.
The RSS is averse to the idea of accepting any “illogical” demand which will demoralise nationalist forces across the country in general and Jammu and Kashmir in particular.
Sources said a threadbare discussion was held on the prevailing political situation in Jammu and Kashmir on the concluding day of the Akhil Bharatiya Pratinidhi Sabha (ABPS) meeting at Nagaur in Rajasthan.
The sources said sangh leaders gave their consent to restitching the alliance with the PDP on the basis of the ‘Agenda of Alliance’ which was drafted before formation of Mufti Mohammad Sayeed government.
Top state RSS leaders — Ramesh Pappa, ‘prant pracharak’, Brig (retd) Suchet Singh, ‘prant sanghchalak’, Purshotam Dadhichi, ‘prant karyavah’, and Ashwani Gupta, ‘prant sahkaryavah’ — represented J&K in the meeting, the highest decision-making body of the Sangh Parivar.
The ABPS meeting, which started on March 11, concluded today. The sources said representatives from the state briefed the ABPS about the prevailing political situation in J&K. Achievements during 10 months of the previous PDP-BJP government were discussed.
Another meeting of some senior RSS leaders and representatives from the state was held separately to brainstorm vital issues concerning the state, said a source, adding that RSS leaders again suggested that the BJP should move cautiously while taking decisions in J&K.
BJP national general Ram Madhav, who had been authorised by party chief Amit Shah to restitch the alliance with the PDP, attended the meeting on J&K.
